When the crippling pavement of a thoroughfare in Dewitt, Iowa required fast action, IIW responded with completing the design and receiving the necessary approvals within three months.
This project along 11th Street required additional coordination and federal requirements since it was funded through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and administered by the Iowa Department of Transportation.
The existing 11th Street pavement had deteriorated over the years, undergoing its previous comprehensive maintenance about 30 years prior to this project.
IIW created a plan that included milling the roadway, repairing the underlying PCC pavement, and then overlaying it with HMA pavement. To address flooding and ensure the roadway repairs lasted as long as intended, IIW identified the intakes through the corridor that would be repaired and several new intakes to add to the system.
IIW provided all the design, contract administration, field inspection and field engineering services for this Local Public Agency (LPA) sponsored, Iowa DOT administered project.
