Company growth and a lack of space prompted Portzen Construction to move forward with an addition to their existing corporate office building.
Portzen’s existing building is a precast concrete wall panel building. The building owners wanted to re-use the existing wall panels that were being removed, and incorporate them into the layout of the addition. As the project team worked through the design, they were able to re-use the panels on the side walls, and provide two-story curtainwalls and a storefront window system on the front side of the addition. This allowed a flood of natural light into the new building spaces.
The project included additional space for offices, conference rooms, and a new reception area.
IIW provided architectural, structural engineering, civil engineering, and land survey services for this design-build project.
