Jones Regional Medical Center has made a series of significant investments in facilities to help better serve the Anamosa area and allow residents to receive more care locally.
The opening of a new hospital in 2009 was among the milestone that quickly fueled growth and demand for the medical center services. Within a short period of time, departmental leaders reported reaching or exceeding programmed capacity.
With the assistance of IIW’s architects and engineers, Jones Regional Medical Center responded with a major addition and remodel to provide more patient care areas and administrative offices and address a need for additional storage for medical equipment and supplies. The medical center’s addition and remodel features new and expanded areas for lab, infusion, cardiac rehab, physical therapy, operating room suite and an outpatient clinic.
The building design focused on efficient use of space that promotes patient privacy and improves the overall patient experience. It also provided an abundance of natural light into the cardiac rehab and physical therapy areas.
In the site design, IIW improved access to the facility and circulation of traffic with a separate emergency vehicle entrance to the Emergency Department and additional handicap parking spaces near the new clinic lobby.
