GIBSON HONORED AT SAME ROCK ISLAND POST YEAR IN REVIEW

Moline, IL—SAME Rock Island Post members and guests gathered in January at the Axis Hotel in Downtown Moline for a 2019 Year in Review event. SAME Rock Island, an organization dedicated to supporting the infrastructure needs of the United States and the engineering profession, recognizes individuals and organizations from the public and private sectors for their continued support and involvement in the Post.

COL Steven M. Sattinger, P.E., Commander and District Engineer, Rock Island District, USACE served as the Master of Ceremonies and presented the awards of the evening.

Stanley Consultants, a consulting engineering firm, was honored with the Sustaining Member Firm of the Year Award, recognizing them as a partner firm who regularly goes above and beyond to support Post events and members. Mike Helms and Lynn Pruitt were both present to accept the award.

Lynn Gibson of IIW, an architecture and engineering firm, was selected as the 2019 Paul Norton Award recipient, which recognizes one SAME Rock Island Post member’s outstanding individual contributions to the Post for the previous year.   

SAME Great Lakes Region RVP Medals were awarded to Anthony Heddlesten, P.E., CFM, USACE and Laura Rozumalski, P.E., President of Freshwater Engineering, honoring their commitment to the Post’s educational and outreach events. The RVP Medal is presented to individuals who demonstrate consistent and outstanding service to SAME.

The event highlighted the many educational and networking events offered throughout 2019 that link private and public sector members together. Most importantly, the evening was a celebration of the $20,000 in scholarship awards given in 2019 to support young engineering students.
