Intern Civil Engineer
Position Description
Assist with a variety of civil, municipal, and environmental design and construction observation projects. Employment term desired is for summer and/or fall semester. Future permanent full time employment may also be available.
Position Requirements
- Interest and educational experience in the following areas desired:

Urban/rural roadway systems design.

Wastewater collection systems.
-
Storm water management systems.
-
Water main design.
- Junior or Senior status in an accredited civil engineering program.
- Practical experience with AutoCAD preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff.
Project Related Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering field data.
- Assist with regulatory agency permit applications.
- Perform engineering assignments requiring application of engineering formulas, standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Assist in the generation of CAD construction drawings.
- Assist in quantity take-off calculations and cost estimating.
- Assist in the preparation of detailed plans and specifications.
- Assist with on-site construction observation tasks.
- Track project quantities.
- Assist with construction documentation.
- Assist with construction submittal review and approval.
