Business Development Representative

 

Position Description

Develop strategies for broadening the business base of IIW Engineers & Surveyors, P.C. including but not limited to client contact with past, present, and future clients according to the business development plan. Locate opportunities for IIW Engineers & Surveyors, P.C. to provide engineering, surveying, and architectural services to new and existing clients in eastern Iowa, southwest Wisconsin, and northwest Illinois.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related field and 3 years’ related experience, or High School Degree plus advanced education and 5 years’ related experience.
  • Engineering related work experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and listening skills.
  • Previous experience selling professional services preferred.

 Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Desired

  • Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Windows Applications.
  • Understanding of Civil Engineering functions.

Marketing Related Responsibilities

  • Participate with project managers in tracking and following up on project leads and new business opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with and handle inquiries from governmental, municipal, corporate, and other executives of client organizations.
  • Work with the technical personnel and staff in the response to proposals.
  • Participate in professional and civic activities.
  • Make direct contact with potential clients and follow-up communication.
  • Attend client organizational meetings.
  • Make regular visits to current and potential clients within the IIW service area.
  • Interact with Project Managers to manage client relationships.
  • Implement marketing strategies.

Other Responsibilities

  • Represent IIW at interviews, meetings, conferences, etc.
  • Attend company business development meetings on a monthly basis
  • Maintain an activity review system for review of the Business Development Committee.
  • Work with staff to maintain current and prospective client information in company database.
