The extent of the work of the Municipal Improvements 2018 project consists of four different sections including: Franklin Street Reconstruction, Franklin Street Water Main, 5th Street Water Main, and Sylvan Street Storm Sewer. Overall the project includes the installation of approximately 3,300 LF of water main, 1,700 LF of various sized storm sewer, and 57 LF of 42-inch bored steel casing. Dependent on the pavement option selected by the City for the Franklin Street Reconstruction, the overall pavement totals for the project are: 3,700 SY of PCC pavement, 1,300 ton of HMA pavement, and 9,000 SY of double seal coat resurfacing. Descriptions of the four sections follow: - Franklin Street Reconstruction consists of reconstructing Franklin Street from 4th to 5th Streets including intersection reconstruction and the reconstruction of 5th Street from Franklin to Spring Streets, also the alley between Franklin and Spring Streets is planned to be reconstructed. The street reconstruction includes installation of storm sewer and reconstruction of two sanitary manholes. The City is bidding three pavement type options including: HMA, PCC and a seal coat option with HMA intersections. - Franklin Street Water Main work consists of the reconstruction of the water main along Franklin Street from 4th to 5th Streets, and the installation of water main on 4th Street from Franklin to Spring Streets and on Spring Street from 4th to 3rd Streets.
- 5th Street Water Main work consists of the reconstruction of water main from Jefferson to Rose Streets and on Rose Street from 5th to 3rd Streets and includes the reconstruction of various intersections to accommodate ADA compliant crossings along with both HMA pavement and seal coat resurfacing.
- Sylvan Street Storm Sewer work consists of the reconstruction of the storm sewer along Sylvan Street from 2nd Street to east of the Riverview Drive intersection and includes PCC pavement patching and seal coat resurfacing.|
